This year marks a monumental milestone for Powers of Arkansas (Powers) as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. Founded in January of 1985 as an Independent Field Office (IFO) of MCC Powers, Powers has grown to become an industry leading name as a controls company representing SIEMENS in building automation and controls, a manufacturer’s rep representing a host of HVAC products, and a premier provider of both controls and mechanical service.

Powers is proud to be part of the largest energy savings project in Arkansas to create a new electrical generator plan for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). We are working with CDI general contractors, Bernhard, and other partners under an Energy Performance Contract which includes the construction of this generator plant, providing 100% back-up power for the entire campus.

What do you do when your chiller needs major repairs to keep it going and summer is fast approaching? And what if that chiller serves a critical area like a server room, the heartbeat of the business? Our customer needed their chiller for this critical server room operational and to be so quickly.

A Powers customer had been nursing along an older boiler in their office building during the week of the “Snowmageddon 2021” when it appeared more active measures would be needed to keep it going. He had been getting updated information at his home through the Siemens Building Automation System. Toward the end of a snowy day, the boiler finally gave out. It was old and frozen and just wouldn’t stay online. The call to Powers went out, and by 5:30 that evening Powers was on site addressing the issues.
